Yet after multiple visits to the island, there are certain hotels that linger in your memory long after you&#8217;ve unpacked your suitcase. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Constance Belle Mare Plage is one of them. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Stretching along a seemingly endless section of white sand on the east coast of Mauritius, this elegant resort manages to strike a rare balance. It&#8217;s luxurious without feeling pretentious, expansive without feeling crowded and refined without loosing the warm Mauritian hospitality that makes the island so special.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After spending time here, it&#8217;s easy to understand why so many guests return year after year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>First Impressio<\/strong>ns<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The drive from the airport gradually reveals the greener, quieter side of Mauritius before arriving at the resort&#8217;s impressive entrance. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Palm tree sway gently in the trade winds, water features trickle quietly and staff greet you with the sort of genuine warmth that Mauritius seems to have perfected. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check in is so smooth, relaxed and efficient. There&#8217;s no sense of rushing guests through the process. Instead you immediately feel encouraged to slow down and embrace island time. Along with a fresh cocktail and even a shoulder massage and. hot towel on arrival. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Rooms<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Constance Belle Mare Plage doesn&#8217;t chase ultra modern trends, and that&#8217;s part of its charm. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"780\" height=\"1024\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/roamingwhispers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_3473-780x1024.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-453\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The rooms are spacious, bright and designed with comfort firmly in mind. Natural materials, earthy tones and subtle Mauritian influences create spaces that feel welcoming rather than overly styled. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Large beds ensure a comfortable night&#8217;s sleep after long days spent exploring the island or relaxing by the beach. Bathrooms are equally generous, with deep bathtubs, separate showers and plenty of space to spread out.  Many rooms offer beautiful views across tropical gardens, while the beachfront categories allow guests to wake up to the sound of the Indian Ocean just steps away, and boy is it a fantastic feeling. This is the sort of room where unpacking feels worthwhile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>The Beach<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mauritius is blessed with some extraordinary beaches, and Belle Mare is among the very best. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The powder soft white sand seems to stretch endlessly in both directions, while the lagoon glows in every imaginable shade of turquoise. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even during busier periods, it never feels crowded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Morning walks along the shoreline quickly became part of my routine, often accompanied by nothing more than the sound of gentle waves and the occasional fisherman preparing for the day ahead. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If you&#8217;re searching for that postcard perfect Mauritian beach experience, you&#8217;ve found it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Food &amp; Drink<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the resorts greatest strengths is the sheer variety of dining options available. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Whether you&#8217;re enjoying fresh seafood overlooking the Ocean, sampling Asian inspired dishes or indulging in one of the resorts themed evenings, there&#8217;s plenty yo keep even seasoned travellers interested. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Breakfast deserves special mention<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large is-resized\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"770\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/roamingwhispers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_3474-1024x770.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-454\" style=\"aspect-ratio:1.329899510175226;width:420px;height:auto\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roamingwhispers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_3474-980x736.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/roamingwhispers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_3474-480x361.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fresh fruits, pastries, cooked to order eggs and local specialities in one of the world&#8217;s greatest island destinations. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, as someone who takes wine perhaps a little more seriously than is entirely healthy, I should mention the wine programme. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The resort boasts an impressive wine cellar and an extensive list. However, like many tropical island destinations, not every bottle represents outstanding value. Occasionaly you&#8217;ll encounter a wine carrying a price tag ambitious enough to suggest it personally swam across the Indian Ocean.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That said, there are some gems to be found. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If available, I&#8217;d recommend looking for wines from South Africa&#8217;s Stellenbosch region. The proximity to Mauritius means they&#8217;re often well represented, and a good Chenin Blanc pairs beautifully with the islands seafood. Crisp citrus notes, tropical fruit flavours and refreshing acidity make an excellent companion for a long lunch overlooking the beach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Trust me. Your future self with thank you, or me!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Golf <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even guests with only a passing interest in golf will appreciate the resort&#8217;s facilities. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Constance Belle Mare Plage is home to two championship courses, including the renowned Links and Legend courses. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Legend course in particular offers a memorable experience, weaving through lush tropical scenery while presenting challenges that keep experienced golfers engaged. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The setting alone makes a round worthwhile, and this is the reason I embarrassed myself with my terrible golfing skills.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s not every day you&#8217;re teeing off surrounded by palms, exotic birds and warm Indian Ocean breezes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Diving and Marine Life<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As a Dive Master, I always judge island destination by what&#8217;s happening beneath the surface as much as what&#8217;s happening above it, sometimes even more so!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Thankfully, Mauritius rarely disappoints. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The waters surrounding the island offer excellent visibility, healthy coral formations and a diverse range of marine life. Nearby dive sites provide opportunities to encounter Moray eels, rays, reef fish, turtles and the occasional larger pelagic visitor depending on the season. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">One of the joys of diving in Mauritius is variety.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Dift dives, reef dives, wrecks and dramatic underwater topography are all within reach. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Even for snorkelers, the lagoon offers plenty to discover. It&#8217;s easy to spend an entire morning exploring beneath the surface before returning to the resort for a leisurely lunch and perhaps a glass of something cold (wine). <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Service<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Luxury hotels live and die by their service. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Fortunately this is another area where Constance Belle Mare Plage excels, and boy it really shines. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Staff throughout the resort are consistently warm, attentive and genuinely eager to help. Whether arranging activities, recommending local attractions or simply remembering your preferred drink order, there is a personal touch that elevates the entire experience. It&#8217;s the sort of hospitality that can&#8217;t easily be taught. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Mauritians have simply mastered it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-large\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"750\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/roamingwhispers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_3475-1024x750.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-455\" srcset=\"https:\/\/roamingwhispers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_3475-980x718.jpeg 980w, https:\/\/roamingwhispers.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG_3475-480x352.jpeg 480w\" sizes=\"(min-width: 0px) and (max-width: 480px) 480px, (min-width: 481px) and (max-width: 980px) 980px, (min-width: 981px) 1024px, 100vw\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Would I Return?<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Absolutely.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This isn&#8217;t the flashiest resort in Mauritius ( I will review these at a later date) and it doesn&#8217;t try to be. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What it offers instead is something arguable more valuable, consistency. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A beautiful beach, excellent service, outstanding facilities, fantastic golf, enjoyable dining and the relaxed atmosphere that defines the very best Mauritian holidays. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After travelling extensively and staying in countless hotels around the world, there are surprisingly few places I genuinely look forward to revisiting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Constance Belle Mare Plage is one of them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">And if you happen to see me on the terrace with a glass of wine in one hand (no chunky glasses allowed), quietly debating whether another bottle counts as hydration in the tropical heat, feel free to say hello.
